FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Missouri modular ethanol plant complete, begins operation Boonton, New Jersey—Construction of a modular plant for the production of high-quality ethanol from corn-based fermentation feedstock is complete in Craig, MO. According to Steve Lavorerio, President of the ChemPro Group, LLC, designer and builder of the modular plant, the project has changed the skyline of the small town. Golden Triangle Energy contracted with ChemPro for an expansion of its existing ethanol production plant in Craig. ChemPro is a full-service design-build company specializing in modular process solutions, prefabricated assemblies, and project management. Ethanol process technology company KATZEN recommended ChemPro because of the company’s depth of understanding of the bio-ethanol process and extensive expertise in separations and modular system design and fabrication. ChemPro’s particular expertise in mass transfer and separations technology such as distillation and liquid-liquid extraction gave the company an edge in gaining the contract. With additional expertise in modular construction, desirable for the remote Midwest plant location, ChemPro was able to offer the added benefit of fast-track design, construction, and installation that offered overall project construction cost savings. The ChemPro modular design consists of seven process modules, a stair tower module to connect and provide access to the other modules, and four freestanding distillation and dehydration columns. The plant was built and assembled at ChemPro’s fabrication partner, McAbee Construction of Tuscaloosa, AL, and transported to Craig, MO by truck. The plant started up in July and is now producing ethanol of a quality that exceeds the design parameters for the plant. The ChemPro Group LLC’s core business is prefabricated modular process equipment and systems, including skid-mounted equipment, stand-alone modular process units, and multi-unit complete modular process plants. ChemPro’s expertise integrates pre-project planning, process conceptualization and design, equipment engineering, detailed design, modular fabrication, and technical support. The company’s specialty is state-of-the-art techniques and project controls to design and deliver complete modular process packages quickly and cost-effectively, with minimal effect on existing plant operations. ### For high-resolution photo files: http://www.thechemprogroup.com/GTE_images.html For further information:
